Video Walk through Street art and skate shed.

Walk through HD from christina roberts on Vimeo.

The Atea/Meeting of this space is 'Street meets Art'.
Street meets art is my umbrella term for where people meet on the street, where people encounter art, where people interact on the street, where artists exhibit their art to the public eye and where people express themselves without the intention of being seen.

Physical meeting: The meeting of  people, objects and artwork coming into contact within the streets.

Intangible/metaphysical meeting - the idea of artist for the artwork/the meaning behind the street art work or the inspiration that it gives off to the viewer.

The space is a meeting place for artists, skaters, art lovers, children and more.

I decided to do some finalising and touch ups on my third idea.
The ceilings of this boat shed design is intended to be strong glass (not sapphire but something to the likes of Gorilla Glass). Same applies with the doors.
Strong glass was used as it would be best for natural light and to entice passers by.

The Murals of the space would be changeable, different artists could come in and do their murals.
Each time new street art individually or as a collective is exhibited in the space, there would be an evening get together/party. Live music/ DJs etc.

This space would be open everyday to the public. The indoor skate ramps would be used frequently during windy and rainy days in Wellington.  As this is a public meeting space, the council workers would maintain the area at night.

The walls of this space would not be limited to graffiti spray paint but wheat paste and other forms of street art as well.. Skateboarding fits into the meeting of "street meets art" as it is, in itself, a creative and mostly independent recreational sport that was created on the streets. Skateboarding is said to be a form of art.. Paul Rodriguez Jr. - Skateboarder
