Inspiration for Idea #2 Natural Leisure space

I went to this bar/restaurant in Brisbane called Cloudland.
The ceilings open up in the day time allowing for sunlight to give life to the real plants in the interior.

Hanging plants

upstairs there are magnificent fabrics all power clashing together, lots of couches and pillows.
There are beds that you can make private by pulling curtains.

The water droplet booth that you can sit and drink in. Covered in vines

Night life.

Section drawings of boat shed design #1 and more...

After.

Before.

Aquarium layers// water tank/ glass/layer of plastic/glass.
So that the rubbish doesn't have to float inside the fish tank to kill more marine life.

Section and elevation drawings of my design for idea #1 marine conservation boat shed.
Left of the boat shed would be clean sandy floors and untouched glass of the fish tank.
When viewers walk around to the right hand side - the sand is speckled with plastic rubbish (bottles, lighters, bottle caps, plastic bags) and the fish tank's outer layer glass has trapped plastic rubbish debris. Giving the allusion of marine life living amongst the pollutants.
Clean on the left, polluted on the right.
the viewers can walk through the space and experience the differences.

Bottle caps and sand photos were found on google images.

A picture I found in the book "Skin Fruit" by Lisa Phillips

"Nature is less and less the mysterious nourishing force that emerged with the birth of the universe, and more and more something that we are re-creating ourselves."

I think this is such a powerful image to match the caption it states.
People are always creating more and more man made spaces, materials and man made environments for our own comfort. All at the cost of the environment.
The use of plastic barbies dolls - (showing that little children make their own little worlds [imaginative space] in itself)
The use of the artificial swimming pool and take trees- (showing that people have a controlled recreation of natures trees and swimming holes)

An amazing idea! Rubbish beneath the waves. A place where people and children can become aware..
